Congrats to Eduardo Sturla! on his 5th place performance at Ironman 70.3 Pucon.
Considered one of the most spectacular races in the world, the event begins with a swim in the pristine Villarrica lake. The two-loop bike course features beautiful views of Villarric Volcano and the Palguin Hot Springs. That’s all followed by a three-lap run that climbs Pucon’t Peninsula. Pucon has a rich history in the triathlon world. The first 70.3 distance event took place in 1984 and since then some of the world’s best have competed there.
This weekend 4-time Pucon champion & Ironman Brazil Champion, Oscar Galindez, was on fire, setting a new course record of 3:57:26. Sturla, Colucci, Wyngard, and Fontana, top calibre athletes who have been competing against Galindez for several years, could say was that it was Galindez’ day and he pushed each of them to their best performance in the early season.
