Stoltz and McQuaid: World Champs

Conrad Stoltz of South Africa and Melanie McQuaid of Canada won the inaugural ITU Cross Triathlon World Championships in Spain. Despite the shorter distances (S-1k, B-22k, R-6k), a steady rain made the course quite technical giving an advantage to the XTERRA regulars. Stoltz adds this ITU World Championship to his record four XTERRA World Championships. McQuaid led an AVIA sweep of the podium, as reigning XTERRA World Champ Shonny Vanlandingham finished a close second and American upstart Emma Garrard grabbed the bronze.
