Pip is an Australian triathlete, who loves racing around the world and maximizing her abilities to the fullest. During Australia’s winter she trains and races in the U.S. Pip began as a swimmer, and was already setting age-group records by age 11. She credits her parents, both masters rowers, with her love of sport and understanding the discipline it takes to achieve. Pip’s natural progression in the sport, led her to triathlon, and an opportunity to test herself in new ways. In Australia, she known as a true icon of the sport and recognized by several titles, including: Australian Junior Elite Athlete of the Year, Australian U23 Athlete of the Year, and Australian Team Member & title holder.
For the last few years, Pip focused on racing the ITU circuit but ready for a new challenged she’s found that the 70.3 distance is the perfect match for her skills. She had several great races this year, including 3rd at Wildflower and 2nd at Longhorn 70.3. And after a swift kick during the swim portion at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships landed her in the hospital, you can bet she’ll be even more hungry for next season.
In her spare time, Pip is working on a Graduate Diploma of Sports Nutrition, She also enjoys traveling and trying foods from around the world, watching the dolphins swim, visiting local farmer’s markets and curling up with a good book. In 2010, Pip will be focusing on the Ironman 70.3 Series. You can see her race at Wildflower, Vineman, and many others.
