Canadian Angela Naeth got her first win of the season at the competitive SuperFrog 1/2 in Coronado, California. SuperFrog is one of the oldest 1/2 Ironman distance races in the US and features a tough open water swim and half-marathon run in the sand of Silver Strand State Beach. Angela, who missed most of last year because of injuries, used a race-best bike split to break the race open and earn a comfortable victory.
Kate Pallardy (Team TBB) had a solid race and placed 4th in the SuperFrog. In the Olympic distance SuperSeal, Tracy Robertson opened her season with a 2nd place finish.
France’s Nicolas Lebrun opened his XTERRA at the inaugural XTERRA Portugal. Despite the World Championship runner-up’s claims of being out of shape, he finished on the podium with a 3rd place. He’ll make his away across the pond for the XTERRA West Cup in Las Vegas at the end of April.
