KATERINA NASH SWEEPS USGP in PDX, LUNA 1st & 3rd OVERALLThis year’s Portland US Gran Prix series finale was held under sunny skies and on a mostly dry course. Unusal conditions for Portland, but it made for some exciting action packed racing. Katerina rode off the front like she has in every other race this season to win by a comfortable margin on both days. Alison Dunlap was in the chase group battling for the podium when an unlucky flat on the last lap took her out of contention in Saturday’s race.
And on Sunday Alison was again fighting for that final podium spot when she crashed hard in a corner, causing her to lose contact with Amy Dombrowski, who went on to finish 3rd. Katerina won the overall for the second year in a row with Alison rounding out the podium in third.
Katerina has a few weeks at home before going home to Czech for her National Championships in January. She’ll then race two World Cups before lining up at the World Championships at the end of January.
