Iron Girl Triathlon – Lake Lanier, Georgia
Pip Taylor had a fantastic race this weekend in the sprint event held near Atlanta. The Iron Girl series draws women from all paths of life to give it a “tri”; the series also draws a competitive pro field of women that race the events held around the country. Each of the pros has chosen Iron Girl because they have a desire to inspire other women to push themselves and accomplish their dreams.
In Sunday’s race – the heat was a concern for many but for Pip Taylor, it was one more advantage over her competitors. Her ITU swim speed, gained her a preem as she exited the water in first. She biked strong along side Mirinda Carfrae (70.3 World Champion), Michellie Jones (Ironman World Champion), Sam McGlone (2nd- Ironman World Champion), and Kate Major (2nd Ironman World Champion). Pip and Mirinda raced into T2 together but Pip struggled to make a smooth transition. Finally out on the run – her turnover was smooth and leg speed top notch. Congrats Pip on a strong finish!
